DEWC Certified a Great Place to Work® – Five Years and Counting

DEWC has once again been officially certified as a Great Place to Work® by Great Place to Work® Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), marking its fifth consecutive year of recognition for excellence in workplace culture, trust, and employee experience.

Great Place to Work® is the global authority on workplace culture. Certification is awarded to organisations that demonstrate a consistently positive employee experience, measured against rigorous, evidence-based global benchmarks in trust, leadership, and culture.

“Certification is more than a badge – it reflects that employees feel respected, supported, and empowered in their day-to-day experience,” said Rebecca Moulynox, General Manager of Great Place to Work® ANZ.

“This outcome isn’t accidental. It comes from deliberate effort: building trust, prioritising employee wellbeing, and creating a culture where people are heard. Achieving Certification year after year signals a deep and ongoing commitment to fostering a consistently positive employee experience.”

DEWC’s certification is based on the results of an anonymous employee survey that assesses key areas such as trust in leadership, pride in work, camaraderie, fairness, opportunities for growth, and how valued employees feel. These results are benchmarked globally and combined with a cultural assessment. Together, they form the basis not only for the certification but also for DEWC’s continued efforts to improve the employee experience.

Employee feedback is not only vital to achieving certification – it directly informs DEWC’s internal priorities and strategic direction.

“This is much more than just a tick-box exercise or a badge of honour,” said Deb Penaluna, DEWC’s General Manager – People and Culture.

“We see this process as a genuine opportunity to listen. The insights our people share – completely anonymously – give us a clear direction. They tell us what’s working, where we can do better, and what matters most to our team. It helps us evolve and improve so that we’re not just a good place to work – we’re a great one.”

For employees, the survey is a meaningful way to shape their work environment. It provides an opportunity to share ideas and feedback that influence initiatives impacting their everyday experience.

“It is reassuring to know that our feedback is taken seriously,” said Sarah Grigg, Program Controls Officer.

“We’ve seen real changes come from these surveys – whether it’s more flexible work options, clearer communication, or new development opportunities. You can tell management actually listens.”

DEWC’s five-year Great Place to Work® streak is a significant milestone – but more importantly, it reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to listening, improving, and creating a workplace where people feel supported, valued, and empowered.
